Servicing Banff, Canmore, Fernie and Beyond

From the first inquiry to your first kiss, I prioritize connection above all. The experience of working with me is about more than gorgeous photos, it is about relationships between myself and my clients and the connection between you and your partner.

I want to hear about how you first met and what you like to do on a Friday night. If you let me, I will follow you on IG and scroll through the evolution of your relationship. My biggest priority is to allow you to be present in the present. I will be there to capture the way you look at each other, those important family photos and jaw dropping portraits. Your job is just to embrace the moments & let me worry about the details.

Connection first, photos second

I will help you feel comfortable in front of the camera

Guess what you and all of my clients have in common? Feeling unsure about what to do in front of the camera. Do not stress for even a moment. I utilize movement-based prompts that inspire natural emotion. All I ask is that you wear shoes you can actually move in (or an extra pair), and you are willing to set aside your fears and have some fun!

I’ll go the extra mile

When I say you are not just another client to me, I truly mean it. By the end of the wedding day, I usually know the names of your bridal party and immediate family. My role extends beyond photographer. I will make sure you stay on schedule, that you have had enough water, put Band-Aids on your blistered feet and be a sounding board when you need a listening ear.

I am in this business because I love it

I left my career in engineering to be a wedding photographer simply because it lights my soul on fire. Nothing is worse than working with someone that just brings a negative energy. I promise you, that is NOT me! If you see me photographing your wedding, you will likely see a smile on my face, misty eyes during parent speeches or me vibing to the music.

A few things worth knowing

You love true to colour photography with a bit of drama – photos that will have you saying “I cannot believe this is us!”

You don’t mind getting a little bit dirty – let’s take some sunset photos on your wedding day barefoot running in the grass with the mountains as our backdrop

You are also inspired by alpenglow, vintage furniture, sunsets, exploring new places or any song that involves a saxophone

You’re a little country and a little bit rock n’ roll - you love spending your Friday nights exploring a new cocktail bar and Saturday nights off-grid sleeping in a tent under a blanket of stars

VALUES VALUES VALUES

I am an open book, I do not like to hide things about myself or my business. This is why I include my prices on my website and show up authentically on social media.

I have said it before and I will say it again. The connection between me and my clients and between you and your partner is everything to me. It is an honor to look through my lens and see the connection between you two that is magic all on its own.

My best work is done when a level of trust is established between us. Knowing that you have complete faith in me to deliver amazing work is when my creativity really shines. Saying ‘we trust you’ is probably my number one photography love language. A way I build trust? A complimentary engagement session with every wedding package so that when I show up on your wedding day you will have first-hand experience of my work.

Photography is art after all. My style is true to colour with a bit of drama. What does that mean? Well, it means that the photos will capture the essence of the moment and have you say “I cannot believe that is us.” Any little tidbit you can give me about you and your relationship can spark my creativity and the photos become a visual representation of your story.

All love, all humans, all relationships, all stories are welcome here. All I care about is that you act with kindness and honesty.

Words cannot describe how thankful and lucky we are to have Victoria as our photographer for our engagement and wedding. She made this such an effortless and fun process and made us feel like we’ve been friends for a long time!

The entire process was collaborative [and her] photos were even better than all of my inspiration photos because she captured our personalities and added her own flare and style. We have nothing but fond memories of the experience, and have [the] photos to revisit forever.”

kind words and love notes

One side of me loves to get dressed up in my newest vintage outfit and try a new restaurant in the city (ask me for my favourites!). The other is happiest covered in dirt from 5 days hiking in the backcountry. That means I will fit right in at your lavish urban wedding or your backyard mountain picnic. I truly feel most alive when I am pushing my boundaries – whether that is grinding up a steep mountain, learning something new or doing something that makes me uncomfortable (hello learning how to mountain bike as an adult).

I am a woman of two worlds.

YES, I do! Because I love the mountains and the city, I do not charge travel fees for any venue within 3 hours of Calgary, Alberta. For weddings across Canada and internationally, travel fees will be charged at cost. Don’t worry I will work to make it economical and work out the details of booking myself.

< Back to questions

Do you travel?

I don’t guarantee a particular number of photos solely because every wedding and couple is different. There is no maximum to the number of photos I will deliver – if there is a valuable memory captured, you will receive it! On average I deliver 100 photos per hour spent shooting.

< Back to questions

How many photos will we receive?

You will receive your photos through an online image gallery that is easy to share with family and friends. In my contract, it outlines that full galleries are sent between 8-12 weeks; however, I am always working to deliver them sooner. I like to be transparent with expectations, especially because I am very detailed in my edits and do not have a maximum number of photos I deliver. Every wedding will get sneak peek photos within 1 week.

< Back to questions

How/when will we receive our photos?

To lock in your wedding date in my calendar, I require a 25% non-refundable deposit. The remainder of your invoice is to be paid within 30 days of your wedding date. If you would like a custom payment plan leading up to your final payment deadline, I am more than happy to accommodate! I take payment via credit card or e-transfer.

< Back to questions

Do you offer payment plans?

Unfortunately, no. This is a take it or leave it offer that is really designed to show you how I work and for me to see your relationship in person. Having an opportunity to work together prior to your wedding date allows for our connection to grow and an opportunity for you to build trust in my work, two of my several core business values.

< Back to questions

Can the included engagement session be used for something else?

My rule of thumb is this: if it can go away in a week, I will edit it out (acne, scraps, bruises). I work to remove unnecessary distractions in photos, and I am very detailed, which is why my galleries sometimes take a little bit longer to edit. I will say, my focus is on the couple getting married and their close circle for these detailed edits. I cannot ‘make you beautiful’ when I am taking your photo because I truly believe you already are. Everyone has beauty to show to the world, I am there to capture it!

< Back to questions
